Cansado Bench by Charlotte Perriand
Cansado bench seat/coffee table, circa 1952, by French designer Charlotte Perriand. The Cité de Cansado was built for the French mining company “Société des Mines de Fer de Mauritanie” (MIFERMA). The accommodations were partly equipped with furniture designed by Charlotte Perriand. The bench is made out of a four-legged support with a rectangular base made of black lacquered metal, with solid oak slats.
