Gianfranco Frattini was an Italian designer who had many professional partnerships such as "Cassina" and many more. This lamp, model 597, was designed for Arteluce in 1961. The base of the lamp is made out of a black enamelled aluminium. A lacquered aluminium conical-shaped base holds the 6 light bulbs behind a curtain of nylon fringes. On top sits another light bulb inside a crater-shaped form. The decorative element of the fringe is a hint to the traditional lampshade.
